Of late I’ve been getting into movies and I can’t really put this down to any forces in particular. I recently went to watch Black Swan at the local multiplex and it is very good, it very much lives upto its hype, I’d throughly recommend it.
Last night I watched the Maltese Falcon the 1941 Classic Film Noir starring Humphrey Bogart. There are multiple reasons for me choosing to watch this movie, for example it fits in with my current work at university, but the core reason is that along side getting into the Film Noir style I just like the relatively unflashy style of black and white films whereby plot is generally king. Alongside buying this film I’ve also bought Casablanca, The Big Sleep and I have They Shoot Horses, Don’t They recorded on my Sky+ Box. (technically not black and white and from the era of the other two films but I’m mentioning it anyway)
As well as the films mentioned above I’m also planning on watching quite a few new films this month, these being Blue Valentine, NEDS, and True Grit and below I add the trailers for said films.
